Our teachers are highly skilled at offering modifications to accommodate every body. Beginners are welcomed to every class!
What class should you choose? It depends on your intentions. Classes listed below include our lighter options first.
Yoga Rx is a slow-moving, mindful class that is great for anyone with stable medical problems, injuries, anxiety or stress. We focus on guided breath along with therapeutic range of motion supported by props to find peace and harmony in the muscular and nervous systems.
Student's refer to this class as "Dorene's breathing class" because we spend most of the class focused on how to expand and improve the breath to support natural, full-bodied breathing. Dorene has been a Registered Nurse and anatomist for over 30 years. Her expertise will allow you to leave this class feeling as if you just finished a full-body retreat.
As sound healing is also proven to improve happiness and well-being, most of these classes include sound healing during Savasana.
This class is a slow and mindful practice designed to rejuvenate your body and soul. It includes deep and relaxing restorative stretches to open the body and sound healing to open the soul. All levels of students are welcomed, especially beginners.
This class is best for a good stretch, or if you seek relief from stress and anxiety. It includes poses that release the deep connective tissues throughout your body with the aim of increasing mobility in your joints and improving your flexibility. It may also include fully supported restorative poses and Yoga Nidra to gently soothe your nervous system into a fully relaxed state, preparing you for your best night of sleep ever.
This class offers an exploration of movement, breath and meditation. We gently create heat in the body leading to a wind down that includes combinations of relaxing stretches and guided meditation. Beginners can comfortably build confidence while experienced yogis can safely deepen their personal practice.
This is a more physical yoga class that also welcomes beginners. The intention is to challenge your tissues, while also being accessible to most bodies with freely offered modifications. It includes standing and seated poses to release tight, crunchy tissues. The class wraps up with stretching, restorative poses, sound healing and/or essential oils to lift your soul.
Ashtanga is a dynamic and energetic practice where we focus on smooth transitions with breath synchronization. We explore asana from the traditional Ashtanga Primary Series mixed in with some Rocket Ashtanga variations in a playful and challenging sequence. This practice welcomes strong beginners as well as seasoned practitioners. Props are welcomed and encouraged as necessary.
This class is designed to tone, strengthen and lengthen muscle groups in a full body approach for a strong, lean and flexible body. Emphasis is placed on breathing, mind body awareness and enjoying the process. This is a strong class, but modifications for all bodies are freely offered (and strongly encouraged!) while you build strength. Hand weights are often used, but are always optional. If you have a set of soft weights, please feel free to bring them along!
