Yoga is for EVERY BODY We just have to find what is right for YOUR BODY
It is my belief that health of the mind and of the body are directly related, and therefore, happiness is an integral part of one's own health. For me, yoga is unique in its ability to promote this balance.
I am fully committed in unifying traditional western methods of healing with more natural interventions. The body is designed to heal itself, I would like to show you how you can support that process.
Yoga is MADE for all bodies, it just doesn’t look the SAME in all bodies.
I have been a Registered Nurse for almost 30 years. During that time, I worked in ER's, ICU's and tiny airplanes transporting critically ill patients. I suppose you might say I was an adrenaline junkie. A few close calls in-flight led me to consider other options. I chose to go back to school.
I completed my Masters Degree in Nursing Education at UCSF with the intention to TEACH. And teach I did! I taught many courses including anatomy for registered nursing programs.
During this time, I took more interest in my personal yoga practice and decided to become a yoga instructor. Many, many trainings later, I completed my 500 hour advanced yoga training through Yoga Tree, in San Francisco, with a focus on anatomy, alignment and therapeutics.
One of my mentors offered me the opportunity to teach anatomy in his 200 hour training through YogaTree. It went so well that I was deeply inspired to continue my studies of yoga anatomy.
Eventually, I had the great fortune of connecting with my current teacher, Judith Hanson Lasater. She has taught me how to observe and respect the natural intelligence of the body. In other words, she has given me freedom to become an ANATOMY REBEL. Rebels don't accept the world around them without questioning "Why?" and considering change. Let me help you understand how to use your body in the ways it was designed to be used.
